WASHINGTON, D.C. - Yesterday, Congressman Mark Upson (PA-21) introduced the Rural Healthcare Access Act, bipartisan legislation to improve healthcare access in rural Pennsylvania communities.

"Too many Pennsylvanians in rural communities face significant challenges accessing quality healthcare," said Congressman Upson. "This legislation will help address the shortage of healthcare providers in rural areas and ensure that all Pennsylvanians can receive the care they need, regardless of where they live."

The Rural Healthcare Access Act would:

• Provide loan forgiveness for medical professionals who practice in rural areas
• Increase funding for rural hospitals and community health centers
• Expand telehealth services to improve access to specialists
• Create grants for innovative healthcare delivery models in rural communities

"Pennsylvanians deserve to know why they're paying so much for their medications," said Congressman Upson. "This bill will shed light on the factors driving up prescription drug costs and help us develop solutions to make medications more affordable for everyone."

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Last week, Congressman Mark Upson (PA-21) led a letter with 11 colleagues calling on Transportation Secretary to address critical infrastructure needs in Pennsylvania.

"Pennsylvania's roads and bridges are in desperate need of repair," said Congressman Upson. "Our state has some of the oldest infrastructure in the nation, and it's time for the federal government to step up and help us modernize these critical systems."
